Squares and Stability

Simple shapes and lines may seem basic, but are the key to achieving stability without neglecting creativity.
The repetitive use of square and rectangle shapes in your interior design can express positive feelings of comfort and rationality. However, this technique alone can become plain and boring. Consider different textures, patterns and a small palette of colours to create a subtle hint of flare. Our range of cushions provides an easy way of presenting these important varieties whilst celebrating the simplicity of square shapes. We recommend mixing up some of our natural designs such as our Cape White or Square Black cushions, with some of our more frivolous and extravagant Fenton Red and Ashanti designs.

Series of congruent shapes are a perfect way of leading the eye. This can range from shapes presented in the architecture of a hallway, to the presentation of elegant decor pieces. Our Lexington Mirror Tray is a perfect way to optimise the use of this congruent technique.

Horizontal Lines can reiterate feelings of stability within your design, but can also add vital elements of breadth.  Lines can be created by placing square or rectangular decor or furniture together to visually expand your living space. Additionally, try aligning repetitive and alike wall art, such as beautiful pieces from our Bally or our Couture collection, to evoke feelings of movement, momentum and breadth.
