Feng Shui

Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese philosophy, which believes that the positioning and physical characteristics of a home affect the fortunes of the owner. Each spot in your home is associated with a different aspect of your life. By placing certain items in certain zones, some have symbolic power; others have a literal connection to the area. For making every room in your house calm and happy, here’s a guide:

1. Clear clutter
Getting rid of any clutter in your home is an essential in creating harmonious house energy. Mess is the number one enemy of Feng Shui and blocks positive energy from entering.

2. Good quality air and light
These two elements are an essential for good Feng Shui energy in your home. In Feng Shui, the windows are the eyes of a home so bring clarity to the space by opening windows often or use an air-purifier. It’s important to let in as much natural light as possible in your home.

3. Fix or throw out broken things
These items are impediments to vitality Broken things attract being broke or having a broken body, associated with health issues and are strong sources of negative energy.

4. Define the bagua/energy map of your home
The bagua of your home acts as a clear map as to which areas of your home are connected to specific areas of your life. For example, the entryway into your home is associated with career and should be as well lit as possible.

Bagua is the foundation of Feng Shui as it assigns different energies to different directions. To start, create a grid with nine squares to fit your home plan and align the lower row of your grid with your main entrance door. Assign each of the squares to the Feng Shui areas below. For example, the lower part is always aligned with the front door and will either symbolize knowledge, career or friends and travel.  Each area also has specific colours and tones that benefit the specific Bangua.

Once these areas are established in your home, you can start applying Feng Shui techniques and make changes to improve the energy needed in each specific Bangua area.

First off I would like to say fantastic blog! I had a quick question that I'd like to
ask if you do not mind. I was interested to know how you center yourself and clear your mind before writing.
I've had a difficult time clearing my mind in getting my ideas out there.
I truly do take pleasure in writing but it just seems like the
first 10 to 15 minutes tend to be lost simply just trying to figure out how to
begin. Any recommendations or tips? Many thanks!
